An introduction

Hello! My name is Larah. I am from Quezon City, Philippines, but I emigrated to Aotearoa New Zealand when I was a child. I currently study at university as an undergraduate majoring in Mathematics with minors in Computer Science and Statistics. I was previously an arts and humanities student in secondary school.

Outside of academics, I am a hobbyist photographer specialising in landscape photography. I sometimes explore urban photography as well. I also enjoy watching and analysing films and series and reading literary fiction. I have recently taken up running too. Beyond my personal interests, I am an advocate for volunteering. In 2025, I spent eight months volunteering at a charity shop, with proceeds going towards medical and community services. I plan to volunteer again when the opportunity arises.

Looking ahead, I intend to do a PhD and go into research and teaching. I aim to keep learning not only to satisfy my own curiosity, but also in the hope of using what I learn to help others.
